Whitby-Oshawa by-election

I am not an activist.

But I know government cutbacks for doctor funding won’t get my family and me the health care we depend on.

While millions of Ontarians are planning now for the care they’ll need as they age, the Ontario Government is cutting necessary funding for the care your doctor provides.

The result? A real and serious threat to your ability to access quality health care in the coming years. Just when you need it most.

Get involved and tell Whitby-Oshawa’s next MPP to stand up for the health care you and your family depend on.

Our Message:

Dear Whitby—Oshawa candidate,

Your campaign for provincial office comes at a time of great stress on our publicly funded health-care system.

Since January 2015, the Ontario government has cut necessary funding for the doctors patients rely on by nearly seven per cent and has imposed a hard cap on the funding it says it will provide.

The result is a real and serious threat to the ability those of us who live in Whitby and Oshawa to access quality care in the coming years—just when we’ll need it most.

As a candidate to represent me and my neighbours, you are uniquely positioned to stand up for quality health care in Durham and across Ontario. While these dire circumstances for patients and doctors are not of your doing, you are now uniquely positioned to confront them. There is no issue more important for us, and all Ontarians, than our ability to access high quality care for our families.
